چکیده

Electrospray ionization (ESI) coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) is rapidly developing into a powerful tool for the molecular characterization of petroleum fractions. However, occurrence ion–molecule aggregates seriously affects interpretation results. Ion–molecule are not inherent compounds in but they produced during analysis samples by spectrometry. Also, classes same as many petroleum. Therefore, removal these species crucial, and their from methods dissociation mechanism points view essential this purpose. In study, vacuum gas oil fraction were analyzed types defined. The compositions characterized changing operating conditions. Several factors affecting evaluated parameter efficiency. By establishing methods, residual content can be controlled less than 1% total ions. results instructive fractions using ESI ionization.

Electrospray ionization high-resolution ion mobility spectrometry-mass spectrometry.

A hybrid atmospheric pressure ion mobility spectrometer is described which exhibits resolving power approaching the diffusion limit for singly and multiply charged ions (over 200 for the most favorable case). Using an electrospray ionization source and a downstream quadrupole mass spectrometer with electron multiplier as detector, this ESI-IMS-MS instrument demonstrates the potential of IMS for...

High resolution mass spectrometry.

Over the past decade, mass spectrometry has been revolutionized by access to instruments of increasingly high mass-resolving power. For small molecules up to approximately 400 Da (e.g., drugs, metabolites, and various natural organic mixtures ranging from foods to petroleum), it is possible to determine elemental compositions (C(c)H(h)N(n)O(o)S(s)P(p)...) of thousands of chemical components sim...

Laser ablation electrospray ionization high‐resolution mass spectrometry for regulatory screening of domoic acid in shellfish

RATIONALE Domoic acid (DA) is a potent neurotoxin that accumulates in shellfish. Routine testing involves homogenization, extraction and chromatographic analysis, with a run time of up to 30 min. Improving throughput using ambient ionization for direct analysis of DA in tissue would result in significant time savings for regulatory testing labs. METHODS We assess the suitability of laser abla...

Evaluation of opiate separation by high-resolution electrospray ionization-ion mobility spectrometry/mass spectrometry.

The separation of opiates and the primary metabolites was evaluated with ESI-IMS/MS. Seven opiate molecules were analyzed, and spectra were shown for each compound. The IMS separation of two isomers (morphine and norcodeine) was shown with baseline separation. Differences in the mobilities were found for the nonacetylated, monoacetylated, and biacetylated compounds. In this study, two primary f...

High-resolution desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry for chemical characterization of organic aerosols.

Characterization of the chemical composition and chemical transformations of secondary organic aerosol (SOA) is both a major challenge and the area of greatest uncertainty in current aerosol research. This study presents the first application of desorption electrospray ionization combined with high-resolution mass spectrometry (DESI-MS) for detailed chemical characterization and studies of chem...
